Doug is a serial entrepreneur, specializing in the development and application of disruptive technologies. He founded numerous technology companies, leading ten of them through successful exits. Fortune 100/500 companies such as 3M, MCI Telecommunications, Salem Communications, Landmark Communications and Cox Communications either purchased or joint ventured with his companies and engaged him to serve as the transitional team leader. He assimilated each organization into new media groups and subsidiary companies to transition conventional media, such as print, photography, and retail into new world online digital media platforms.
Doug acquired numerous companies to augment the respective growth strategies of each of his businesses. From these initiatives, he identified strategies integral for each company to experience rapid growth and market dominance. The business structure Doug used in the companies he founded caught the attention of Harvard Business School. Harvard used his business model as a case study entitled, "Managing in the MarketSpace," as an example of how to deliver digital assets through new media venues.
